I am pleased that the Sivananda World Peace Foundation is taking this initiative to promote yoga in schools and in our communities which will help our future generations to grow from strength to strength.Yoga will bring about a change in the lives of my people and enable them to become focused and more specially to create an awarenessof health and wellness
The essence of yoga is balance - not just balance within the body or that between the mind and the body, but also balance in the human relationship with the world. Yoga emphasizes the values of mindfulness, moderation, discipline and perseverance.
To mark its importance,International Day of Yoga is celebrated every year on June 21 since 2015. I am so delighted that yoga has become a way oflife to my people in the Kingdom of KwaZulu Natal. During this time, we are brought together as one community across race, culture and class by the practice and essence ofthis ancient tradition of yoga. I will be this year, oin the Sivananda Worid Peace Foundation and millions of people across the world to encourage people to adopt yoga as a healthy lifestyle.
